RVA Manager of the Year
This year’s award goes to Jill Bowkett – Manager of AVEO Derwent Waters in Claremont Tasmania
Jill Bowkett was awarded the RVA Manager of the Year Award 2007, for excellence in her position as Manager of AVEO Derwent Waters in Claremont, Tasmania at the Retirement Village Association’s (RVA) AdvantAge 07 Conference .
Jill says it was an enormous honour to win the regional award but taking out the national honours was an unexpected thrill.
“It was the residents who nominated me and put the application together. It’s been great thrill for them too – they’ve kept all the newspaper cuttings and they threw a party for me when I got back from the conference in Melbourne,” said Jill.
The initially reluctant participant was rewarded for excellence in listening and communication and for her extensive efforts toward implementing environmentally sustainable and cost-saving practices around the village.
