SA provider wins WorkSafe award
A not-for-profit provider in South Australia has been judged Employer of the Year by WorkSafe SA.
South Australian provider Eldercare has been awarded the SafeWork SA Employer of the Year award.
The organisation’s CEO, Klaus Zimmerman said the award came as a result of the concerted efforts of everyone in the organisation.
“I wish to congratulate all those involved in making sure that Eldercare is a safe workplace, and in particular to all the committee members of all the occupational health and safety committees within Eldercare,” Mr Zimmerman said in a message to staff.
“In particular, I would like to give a special mention to Chris Racar and Chris Pelvin, who have been leading the culture change within Eldercare.”
The award was presented by the state’s Minister for Industrial Relations, Paul Caica, at a ceremony on Friday night.
Mr Caica praised Eldercare along with the other award winners, describing them as examples for the rest of the state to follow.
“The Award winners send a positive message and example to South Australians of the kind of innovation, dedication and cooperation needed to keep our workplaces safe,” he said.
