Victorian aged care provider TLC Healthcare and aged care industry superfund HESTA are among organisations honoured at the 2021 Australian Business Awards.

TLC Healthcare received the Business Excellence award for its response to the COVID-19 pandemic and establishment of the TLC Coronavirus Taskforce and an Employer of Choice award for the sixth consecutive year.

HESTA also picked up  an Employer of Choice award for its commitment to employee welfare, development and education.

The annual awards, which were announced on 7 October, recognise organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, employee engagement, customer satisfaction experience management, business sustainability, product and technology innovation.

Lou Pascuzzi

TLC Healthcare CEO Lou Pascuzzi said he was pleased the organisation and the team were recognised for its response to COVID-19.

“I could not be prouder of my team and the way they have responded in these unprecedented and challenging times,” Mr Pascuzzi said in a statement.

“The TLC Coronavirus Taskforce has successfully steered TLC through the pandemic with clearly defined goals, objectives, and strategies,” he said.

All 11 TLC homes have remained free of COVID-19 despite three-quarters of the homes being in Victoria’s COVID-19 hotspots, Mr Pascuzzi said.

“This 2021 Australian Business Award for Business Excellence is for every member of Team TLC who has worked tirelessly to protect our community. I am proud to lead a team of such exceptional people,” he said.

Mr Pascuzzi said TLC Healthcare’s culture of respect accountability, excellence, collaboration, integrity and innovation was a key driver in the organisation’s success.

Debby Blakey

“Being a 2021 Australian Business Awards Employer of Choice Winner recognises the employee experience strategy that attracts the best people in the industry to TLC,” he said.

HESTA CEO Debby Blakey said the award reflected the commitment of the HESTA team.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do. I’m so proud of the strong, inclusive and diverse culture we’ve built that allows our people to do amazing work and delivered outstanding, long-term performance for our members,” Ms Blakey said.

TLC Healthcare won Australian Business Awards for Brand Excellence in 2016, Service Excellence in 2017, Product Innovation in 2018, Marketing Excellence in 2019 and Product Excellence in 2020.
