Benetas appoints new executive
Not-for-profit and Victorian-based aged care provider Benetas has announced the appointment of Veronica Jamison as the new general manager of primary and home care.
Ms Jamison was previously general manager of member support and state manager VIC/TAS at provider peak Leading Age Services Australia (LASA).
She has postgraduate qualifications in business, management and human resource management along with a psychology degree.
She is also a fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Managers and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australian Human Resources Institute and the Aged Care Complaints Commissioner Consultative Committee.
Ms Jamison said she was thrilled about her appointment.
“With primary care being a new area in the Benetas portfolio, it will be an exciting journey for both myself and the organisation,” she said.
Benetas CEO Sandra Hills said Ms Jamison secured the role due to her outstanding credentials.
“With extensive experience in aged care through LASA, she has also been involved in the health sector for over 30 years, previously holding CEO and senior executive roles in both rural Victorian and metropolitan Melbourne health services in both the public healthcare and not-for-profit sectors. This makes her a perfect fit for this role,” Ms Hills said.
Council on the Ageing WA appoints new CEO
Council on the Ageing Western Australia has announced the appointment of not-for-profit sector leader Christine Allen as its new CEO.
Ms Allen was also most recently at Leading Age Services Australia, where she has been serving as the WA state manager since 2016. She has over 15 years leadership experience in the NFP sector including 10 years with the Perth Convention Bureau in roles including managing director, general manager and chief financial officer.
Ms Allen said she was delighted to be offered the opportunity to represent Western Australia’s seniors.
“As the incoming CEO, I look forward to turning up the volume on the voices of older Western Australians.”
COTA WA president Ron Regan said the Board of COTA WA was “very pleased to have secured the services of such an outstanding, experienced and proven senior executive as Christine Allen to lead the organisation into the future.”
Ms Allen will take over the role on 25 March 2019. She replaces Mark Teale, who has been in the role for two years.
