Bethanie announces new cottage development

West Australian-based aged care and retirement living provider Bethanie has announced the development of new cottages at its Esprit retirement village in Eaton.

The new development includes 34 single story cottages, each with two bedrooms and and a half bathrooms, a full-size kitchen, wide corridors and doorways, a double garage and outdoor living area.

The first of three stages of the development is expected to commence in April and all 34 cottages are due to completed in August 2022.

Churches of Christ Care opens new community

Queensland-based residential aged and home care provider Churches of Christ Care has opened its new seniors living and community campus in Caloundra.

The new community includes a residential aged care service comprising six cottages with 16 private bedrooms with ensuites and the latest technology to support clinical and personal care.

It also features a community care office, aquatic centre, café and community centre residents and the external community.

The community care office will serve as the regional base for home aged care staff.

MercyCare announces intergenerational campus

MercyCare has announced it will develop an intergenerational care campus at Cannington in Perth that combine residential aged care with a range of community services to support locals.

The new development will include a residential aged care service with 123 places and services for residents, youth and vulnerable people in the community. The City of Cannington also plans to develop 300 new homes one the same site.

The intergenerational campus will be located near public transport and existing shopping and leisure amenities and Curtin University.

Construction is expected to commence in mid-2020 and take two years to complete.

Jewish Care Victoria to develop an active living centre

Jewish Care Victoria has announced it will develop a $7.15 million active living centre to be built next to its aged care facility Gary Smorgon House in Caulfield.

The Anne & Eric Smorgon Active Living Centre will support the healthy ageing of residents at the collocated facility as well as seniors living in the community.

The new centre will feature a range of allied health services, a gymnasium, meeting and administrative rooms, training and outreach services and community respite services.

The centre, which will be developed by Four Square, is expected to be completed in February 2020.
