BlueCross and Sapphire Care merge
Victorian providers BlueCross and Sapphire Care have merged their operations, which collectively include thirty-five residential services across metropolitan Melbourne, Phillip Island and Kilmore.
The new entity reported it now has over 2,630 residential care beds, a pipeline of more than 500 beds due to become active in the next two years and a home care service with around 1,000 clients.
The merger was announced in a joint statement last week with immediate effect.
Existing BlueCross chief executive Alan Lilly has been appointed to lead the newly merged company.
Mr Lilly, a registered psychiatric nurse with post graduate qualifications in general nursing and health service management, joined BlueCross in September 2016 as an experienced leader and manager of health and aged care services.
The companies will combine business operations in the coming months with an anticipated completion later this year, the chairmen reported.
Alliance formed to bridge gap between clinical and legal compliance
The Health Metrics Advisory Team and Hynes Legal have formed an alliance that aims to provide current and prospective aged care providers with a combination of strategic, technological, clinical and legal advice.
Health Metrics Advisory Team (HAT) is a national initiative of aged care software provider Health Metrics while Hynes Legal specialises in aged care regulatory compliance.
HAT general manager Ruvani de Silva said the alliance would combine the skills and experience of both two teams to bring a new series of services to the aged care industry.
He said the first initiative was a residential health check of a provider’s strategy, performance, clinical governance and regulatory compliance systems.
Hynes Legal director Julie McStay said the alliance would also work with aged care providers facing issues of non-compliance or sanctions and would help them achieve compliance within the shortest possible timeframe.
