Lutheran Services appoints new CEO

Queensland-based home, aged care and retirement living provider Lutheran Services has announced Nick Ryan as its new CEO.

Mr Ryan joins Lutheran Services with three decades of experience in leadership roles in the aged care, human services, government and education sectors.

He previously held senior positions at the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency and Aged Care Queensland (now Leading Age Services Australia). He has also worked for the Queensland Government in central agency and human services roles after an early career in the education and youth sector.

Mr Ryan’s most recent role was as the interim CEO of fellow aged care provider Southern Cross Care Queensland.

Mr Ryan said he is delighted to join Lutheran Services.

“Lutheran Services places connected communities, hope and meaningful lives at the heart of everything it does. I look forward to continuing on with this approach that values dignity, living a good life and high standards of care,” Mr Ryan said.

“I have a genuine passion for caring for older people, particularly those who are most in need.”

Amana Living appoints new board member

Western Australian-based aged care and retirement living provider Amana Living has announced John Langoulant as a new member to its board.

Mr Langoulant comes from a background in the business, government and not-for-profit sector. He has been at the Commonwealth and Western Australian Treasuries for 30 years, including as State Under Treasurer for 10 years. He has also been CEO of Australian Captial Equity and Oakajee Port and Rail.

He holds a number of board positions, including as chair of the Telethon Kids Institute, president of the Committee for Economic Development Australia WA State Advisory Council and as a board member for the National Disability Insurance Agency.

Mr Langoulant said he looks forward to joining the Amana Living board.

“I’m looking forward to working with the board to ensure they can meet the demands of an evolving and growing market. I’m looking forward to working with the board to help steer the organisation towards achieving its vision to be the provider of choice for Western Australian seniors,” Mr Langoulant said.

Mr Langoulant has already commenced his new position with the organisation.
