Rural and regional aged care provider integratedliving has opened a “wellness” centre in the NSW northern rivers region that brings together a range of services aimed at helping older people stay active, mentally fit and socially connected.
The Ballina Wellness Centre was officially opened by Ballina City Mayor David Wright and integratedliving CEO Catherine Daley on August 16.
The centre has a gym and offers a range of services including yoga, massage therapy, occupational therapy, allied health treatments and a meals service, as well as personalised exercise programs.
It also provides programs focusing on preventing and managing chronic conditions, as well as memory and independence programs.
Daley says it is regional Australia’s first purpose-built wellness centre for seniors.
Costs of attending the centre can be subsidised via CHSP or HCP funding.
Congratulations on the wellness centre! Maybe this will be the start of something new and interesting in other parts of the country.
