Occupational Therapy Australia appoints CEO

National peak body for occupational therapists Occupational Therapy Australia has announced the appointment of Samantha Hunter as its new CEO.

Ms Hunter has experience in both small businesses and the not-for-profit sector with skills including strategy and business development, marketing and stakeholder relations, and community education.

In her previous roles, she was director of Tomboy Media, CEO and chair of Crime Stoppers Victoria and director of Country Fire Authority. Ms Hunter is currently the director of both the Ballarat International Foto Biennale and the Werribee Football Club.

Ms Hunter commenced her new role on 13 September 2018.

Mildura’s Princes Court Homes appoints head chef and food service manager

Victorian-based aged care and independent living provider Mildura’s Princes Court Homes has announced the appointment of Damien Plonsker as head chef.

In Mr Plonsker’s new role, he will be working with a dietitian to create a new menu for residents at the facility that features seasonal local produce.

Also at Mildura’s Princes Court Homes, Michael Farrow has been appointed its new food and residential service manager.

Mr Farrow has 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In his new role he will oversee menu changes in the kitchen.

The kitchen at the facility has recommenced preparing its own food after being contracted to a catering and hospitality provider for 17 years, he said.

“Operating the kitchen in-house gives us an opportunity to lift the quality of the experience.

“Our goal is to offer the residents high quality food, while meeting their nutritional and dietary needs,” Mr Farrow said.
