Opal aged care unveils new facility
Residential provider Opal Aged Care has unveiled its $48 million medium-rise facility in Bankstown, Sydney, this week.
The 155-bed residential care facility includes two smaller specialised dementia care units that incorporate home-like qualities to increase resident comfort, such as specially designed memory gardens.
The four-storey facility includes a hairdresser, café, rehabilitation centre, virtual reality entertainment and premium bedrooms complete with an ensuite, TV, Wi-Fi and built-in wardrobes.
To embrace the cultural diversity in Bankstown, the facility will offer home-styled meals, lifestyle services, spiritual support and staff who can speak a second language.
To help people improve people’s strength, mobility and independence, Opal Bankstown will be working with patients from the local hospital and people from the surrounding community to provided access to its rehabilitation and wellness centre.
Local MP for Blaxland Jason Clare attended the ceremony to officially launch Opal’s newest facility.
Benetas building integrated facility
Benetas has announced the development of a $110 million integrated residential aged care accommodation and retirement living apartments in Doncaster Hill.
The new facility, presented as a single landmark building will include a 124-bed aged care facility and 76 retirement living apartments, all with access to lifestyle, wellbeing and allied health services.
The aged care facility will be designed with separate clusters to accommodate no more than eight residents, each with a private lounge, dining room and kitchen.
Retirement living apartments will be available with two or three bedrooms with complimentary lifestyle services including a rooftop terrace, cinema, gymnasium, spa, library, internet café, coffee shop and restaurant.
A range of community spaces will also be available on site including a hairdresser, residents’ bar, private dining rooms and multi-function activity and socialisation spaces.
Central Coast Community Care launches facilty extension
New South Wales aged care provider Central Coast Community Care Association has launched its newly completed extension at the Killarney Vale facility.
Upgrades at the facility include 29 premium rooms, a large open lounge area and modern landscaped courtyards and garden areas.
Central Coast Community Care Association CEO Greg Williams said the opening showcases the benefits the facility will bring to residents in the area.
“The new extension of our Killarney Court facility will give Central Coast residents the opportunity to experience aged care living in an environment that is familiar to them,” Mr Williams said.
Local MP Emma McBride attended the ceremony to officially open the new wing.
