Two Resthaven executives step down

South Australian aged care and retirement living provider Resthaven has announced two long-serving executives have stepped down from their roles.

Resthaven farewells its executive manager of people and culture Des Itsines and executive manager of governance and workforce development Wendy Morey.

Ms Itsines has served Resthaven for over 19 years and will leave to commence her retirement.

Ms Morey will be moving to Timor-Leste to begin a philanthropic role.

Resthaven chief executive officer Richard Hearn said Ms Itsines and Ms Morey have made a significant contribution to the organisation.

“We held a joint celebration to recognise Des’ significant contribution as well as thanking Wendy… for her equally significant contribution,” Mr Hearn said.

Mr Hearn said this is the first change to Resthaven’s executive team for many years.

Resthaven appointed Sam Bradley, who will be taking over in Ms Itsines’ role as its new executive manager of people and culture.

Ms Bradley’s background is in human resource, where she has held a role at Westpac Banking Group as its head of human resources in South Australia, Bank SA, and customer care.

She will commence her new role in March.

In January, Resthaven announced the appointment of Darren Birbeck as its executive manager of governance and corporate services (read more here).

Bolton Clarke appoints general manager

Bolton Clarke has announced the appointment of Sandra Glaister as its new general manager of retirement living.

Ms Glaister has experience across the residential aged care, retirement living and community care sectors.

Her most recent role was senior manager in retirement living at Aveo Group, where she was responsible for overseeing 27 communities in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

She has also worked as Leading Age Services Australia’s industry advisor, where her role was to provide support and advice on residential, community care and retirement living.

Bolton Clarke CEO Stephen Muggleton said Ms Glaister brings enormous expertise to the organisation.

“Her expertise in building new service streams supporting flexible care options for retirement living residents is strongly aligned with Bolton Clarke’s work with customers to give people services they value when they need them,” Mr Muggleton said.
