Wintringham acquires independent living facility
Victorian-based aged care provider Wintringham Specialist Aged Care has announced the acquisition of the Irving Benson Court, an independent living facility for people 50 years and over.
Irving Benson Court, which was previously owned by Uniting Victoria Tasmania, has 17 residents in its facility. The acquisition has been supported by Melbourne-based philanthropic foundation the Peter and Lyndy White Foundation.
All existing residents will be assured affordable housing now and as future tenants after the acquisition is complete, said Bryan Lipmann, CEO and founder of Wintringham, which specialises in aged care for people who homeless or at risk of homelessness.
“Our motto always has and always will be to provide a home until stumps for our clients,” Mr Lipmann said.
Uniting Victoria Tasmania CEO Paul Linossier said the acquisition was in the best interests of its residents.
“We are working closely with Wintringham to make sure the transition is as seamless as possible,” Mr Linossier said.
“Wintringham has agreed to honour all existing arrangements with the residents,” he said.
The site will be fully acquired by Wintringham by April.
LDK Healthcare acquires The Landings at Turramurra
Retirement living provider LDK Healthcare has acquired The Landings retirement village in north Sydney.
The Landings features 220 homes, including 106 three-bed villas and 114 one, two and three-bedroom apartments across 11 hectares of land in North Turramurra.
LDK Healthcare CEO Byron Cannon said the organisation was thrilled to share LDK’s vision with the residents at the village.
“Our goal is to create the most loved seniors living communities in Australia… through our One More Promise, listening and adapting to our members’ needs and treating all our residents with love, decency and kindness – the three core values of LDK,” Mr Cannon said.
One More Promise is LDK’s membership model where residents receive all the care they require in the privacy of their own homes.
National Ageing Research Institute partners with innovAGEING
The National Ageing Research Institute and aged care innovation network innovAGEING have formed a knowledge alliance partnership program to link research with current industry practices.
The alliance aims to highlight the importance and impact of innovation in aged care and share NARI’s research findings with the innovAGEING network.
InnovAGEING head Merlin Kong said the partnership would improve health outcomes for aged care.
“With innovAGEING’s focus on reinterpreting the concept of ageing in relation to the design and delivery of services, NARI’s research interests and vision for a world where older persons are respected, healthy and included is very much aligned to our network’s interests,” Mr Kong said.
NARI director Associate Professor Briony Dow said innovAGEING provided a platform to share new developments and research to meet the needs of older people.
“We believe that good evidence should underpin innovation in aged care and NARI will look forward to working with innovAGEING to achieve this,” Associate Professor Dow said.
Healthcare Australia acquires Wellness & Lifestyle
Health industry recruiter Healthcare Australia has announced the acquisition of mobile allied health provider Wellness & Lifestyle.
Wellness & Lifestyle offers physiotherapy, pain management, occupational therapy and other allied health services and training nationally.
It follows Healthcare Australia’s acquisition of Melbourne-based allied health aged care provider Revita last year.
Healthcare Australia CEO Jason Cartwright said combining three organisations improved access to services.
“The integration of HCA’s existing allied workforce, Revita and now W&L creates a market leader that offers national scale with Australia’s largest therapist workforce,” Mr Cartwright said.
