Nurse advisers appointed to Bridgewater
The Commonwealth will fund the clinical team set-up to help the administrator.
A clinical nurse adviser team is assisting the administrator of Bridgewater Aged Care Service to ensure the quality of care for the 107 residents.
The team was appointed and will be funded by the Commonwealth Government after the Melbourne-based home went into administration at the end of last week.
As part of a contingency relocation plan, the Department of Health and Ageing has identified 480 potential vacant beds for residents who wish to relocate.
Eighty of the beds are in the immediate vicinity and the other 400 are in surrounding areas, according to a Department statement.
Departmental case managers have been assigned to residents’ families and are currently making contact with them to provide information and assistance.
The Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot again gave her assurance that resident bonds and employee entitlements would be protected.
“The welfare and well being of residents is my primary concern. They come first and that is why we acted,” she said.
