Pathways receives tick for new seniors precinct
Development approval for Pathways Cremorne brings more aged care and housing options for the Sydney suburb’s ageing population.

Pathways Residences has announced that development approval has been granted for Pathways Cremorne, an integrated, heritage-sensitive and future-focused aged care and seniors living precinct in Sydney’s lower North Shore.
Situated at 50–88 Parraween Street and 59–67 Gerard Street, Pathways Cremorne will feature a 41-place aged care home and 58 luxury independent living apartments under the brand Amara Residences Cremorne.
With Cremorne’s older population expected to grow significantly over the next decade, Pathways Cremorne and Amara Residences Cremorne will enable more older people to remain close to their networks, services and community.
The $87 million project has undergone a multi-year planning and consultation process and reflects a strong commitment to heritage preservation and community engagement. The final design is the result of close collaboration with council, and community stakeholders and meets the changing needs of Sydney’s ageing population.

The development will retain six heritage-listed homes and keep the original facades, structure, and streetscape. These heritage cottages will provide a unique blend of character and care, and reinforce the precinct’s deep connection to local history.
“This has been many years in the making and we are delighted to now bring our vision for Cremorne to life,” said Pathways Residences founder and managing director Graeme Skerritt.
On-site amenities include a café, hair salon, gym, indoor pool, allied health consulting rooms, private and communal lounge areas, and landscaped gardens to support resident wellbeing, connection and independence.
The project is also expected to generate more than 150 jobs during construction and create over 80 roles once operational.
