Under the five year contract, Dimension Data will conduct a service enhancement program, as well as providing support for the organisation’s existing IT infrastructure.

The service contract is part of a broader plan by Blue Care to switch from a ‘local-based’ application environment to a new enterprise environment

The organisation’s current IT skill base will continue to support front-line care delivery, IT strategy and new capability delivery while Dimension Data will provide operating service support to manage Blue Care’s data centre, network, email services and end user devices.

“Over the next three years, Blue Care’s ability to execute our strategic objectives as well as identify and exploit competitive advantages is dependent upon further investment and
development of core capabilities,” said the group’s Chief Operating Officer, Greg Masters.

“Part of this capability is the establishment and operation of core systems that support the objectives of our business at an enterprise level, with single applications rolled out organisation-wide.”

“Technology is an enabler of business outcomes and as Blue Care’s dependency on technology increases, we must ensure that we can continue to provide the service levels required to support our front-line service delivery.”

The first organisation-wide application to be implemented will be Procura’s Health Management System.

The program will provide a common information system for care and service management throughout the organisation and is expected to lead to greater efficiency of service delivery.
