The Regis Group has announced that it will build a large aged care facility at its Hollywood Village site in the Perth suburb of Nedlands.

The 274-place, multi-level facility will include two distinct buildings and will offer low, high, extra services and dementia-specific care.

It is designed to meet and exceed current environmentally sustainable design requirements and is close to a number of major hospitals.

Residents will be able to choose from a number of accommodation styles, including self-contained luxury suites with access to large combined living areas.

The facility will also feature a number of lifestyle amenities such as an onsite hairdresser, a cinema, an internet café and a rooftop garden terrace.

When it is completed in 2012, residents at Regis’s existing Park Lodge, Weston Lodge and Elloura Lodge will be offered places in the new home.

“The building of the new aged care facility and the addition of 40 new beds will not only provide a state of the art home to our current residents’, it is an investment in much needed new facilities to meet future demand in Western Australia,” said Regis Group CEO, Ross Johnston.

“With most aged care providers not in a position to commit to further building the Regis Group is continuing in its commitment to provide older Australians with quality housing and care and respond to the challenge of an ageing population,” he added.
