The advice is targeted at home care providers who may be confused about how to correctly categorise their services for GST purposes or want to know whether their services and fees are subject to tax or GST-free.
The information covers government funded home care, non-government funded care, subcontracted services and supplies.
The information includes case studies in each category, comprehensive links and information on GST-free health goods and services other than home care.

New requirements for home care service finder information
Meanwhile, the health department has updated its guidance materials for approved home care providers on new requirements for putting information the My Aged Care portal service finder.
The service finder is designed to make easier to find accurate and consistent information, the department says, and all providers will be required to publish prices on the My Aged Care Service Finder according to a standardised pricing schedule by April 30, 2019, allowing consumers to compare single unit costs.
The new requirements come in response to consumer complaints about a lack of clarity and confusion about sourcing services.

Update on quality standards
