Podcast focuses on strength-building for older people
Video: Reablement experts Dr Justin Keogh and Dr Tim Henwood have released the second episode in their new podcast series, which aims to inform anyone looking to improve the lives of older people about the transformative power of exercise.

Associate Professor Justin Keogh from Bond University and AgeFIT Solutions principal Dr Tim Henwood are bringing their passion for progressive resistance and balance training to a new podcast series called Stronger Through the Ages.
Published on Spotify, the series looks at the science, stories, and strategies behind helping older adults stay strong, independent and thriving and targets all stakeholders interested in improving the lives of older people.
In addition to co-hosting this podcast, the longstanding friends and collaborators both shared their knowledge and experience on evidence-based strategies to improve older people’s health and wellbeing at last month’s Positive Ageing Summit.
Speaking to Australian Ageing Agenda at the summit following the release of the first episode, Dr Keogh said they have already recorded the first five, looking at areas like the benefits of strength-based exercise and how to overcome accessibility challenges.
“We’re really excited to bring more of them to light and hope everyone appreciates and benefits from our discussions,” Dr Keogh told AAA.
The second episode in the series, which is available here, was released last week. It explores why muscle is the key to staying strong, independent, and resilient as people age.
Here Dr Keogh discusses the podcast, including who it’s for and plans for the future:
