Aged care peak body Leading Age Services Australia has developed a new business solution to support residential aged care and home care providers with online safety and quality management.

Aged care peak body Leading Age Services Australia has developed a new business solution to support residential aged care and home care providers with online safety and quality management.

The Safety and Quality Management System is designed to provide long-term support to providers following the transition to the new Aged Care Quality Standards from 1 July and other regulatory changes they will be required to comply with.

It has been designed to assist with legislative changes and adjustments to the new standards, particularly against the backdrop of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

In-built features of the system include dual language capability and compatibility with other business systems, including care management, finance and storage.

LASA CEO Sean Rooney said legislative changes and adjustments to the new standards were factored into the design of the Safety and Quality Management system.

“We understand that maintaining compliance long-term is an issue for providers, and that’s why we offer free updates as part of the subscriber package,” Mr Rooney said.

“Staying up-to-date with the latest requirements is a must-have in order for providers to take the time to focus on their primary work, to deliver high quality care,” he said.

Mr Rooney said providers need to ensure they have the right policies and procedures in place.

“LASA’s quality system is not just about 1 July, it’s about a long-term solution for providers that they can rely on,” Mr Rooney said.

“It’s really about giving providers the confidence to take control of their business and be in a strong position to drive the cultural change embedded in the new standards.”

The system has free help desk support during business hours.

It is available at a discount for LASA members and rural and remote providers.
