Rev Dr Graham Vawser and Jess Margrate unveil the plaque hero

Manager of residential services Jessica Margrate and board member Reverand Dr Graham Vawser officially opened Resthaven’s $36 million redeveloped site in the southern Adelaide suburb of Bellevue Heights on Tuesday – after five years in the making.

The redevelopment encompasses the replacement of 32 rooms constructed in the late 1970s, an upgrade of the auditorium, which is used for entertainment and special events, a new kitchen, laundry and maintenance area, and improved street appeal.

Resthaven chief executive officer Darren Birbeck, the executive and board members atttended the opening, along with federal, state and local politicians Louise Miller-Frost, Catherine Hutchesson and Dr Heather Holmes-Ross and moderator of the Uniting Church South Australia, Reverand Peter Morel.

Fellow aged care executives Linda Feldt of ACH Group, David Moran of Southern Cross Care SA, NT & VIC, Jenny Hall of UnitingSA, and Michelle Church of St Basils attended the opening too, joined by the provider’s aged care and retirement living residents, volunteers, staff and family members.

Guests enjoyed live music on arrival, canapes and drinks, and Great Gatsby themed decorations made my Resthaven residents.
