See and be seen
A new online directory has been launched to connect aged care providers with industry suppliers in a quick and easy way.
Australian Ageing Agenda has launched a new Online Trade Directory to complement its news and information services to the aged care and retirement industries.
Officially made ‘live’ today, the directory currently lists more than 300 companies that provide goods and services in aged care, with hundreds of different brands.
The brands are divided into 119 categories, covering everything from academic and research organisations, laundry equipment suppliers to software providers, ad agencies and bedding manufacturers. The directory also covers categories such as aged care providers, industry associations, advocacy organisations and government departments.
Group publisher for The Intermedia Group which publishes Australian Ageing Agenda, Mark Kuban, said the growth and diversification of the aged care and retirement industry meant there was increasing competition from suppliers seeking to leverage what they see as an important emerging market.
“The aged care sector was once a highly specialised market for niche suppliers but has now become the target of a lot of large and diverse suppliers of goods and services, many of whom are adding aged care to their portfolio of client groups,” said Mr Kuban.
“The market has become crowded and potentially confusing. A directory like this becomes not just useful but really important for organisations trying to make sense of the plethora of options available to them in any one area.”
Mr Kuban said the directory was an excellent complement to Australian Ageing Agenda magazine and the news website.
“With AAA’s strength as the industry’s information hub and the huge volume of traffic using the website, it made sense to us to have this added service.”
“When you are in the business of communication and knowledge exchange, that should extend to helping people connect with the products and services they need and, conversely, connecting the providers of those products and services with their customers,” he said.
The directory is expected to continue to grow and develop as new companies, products and services become listed.
