The Intermedia Group has announced the appointment of Natasha Egan as editor of Australian Ageing Agenda as Darragh O’Keeffe moves to edit Government News.

The Intermedia Group has announced the appointment of Natasha Egan as editor of Australian Ageing Agenda.

Ms Egan, the publication’s senior journalist since 2012 and deputy editor since 2015, takes over from Darragh O’Keeffe who has been appointed editor of stablemate title Government News.

Mr O’Keeffe has been editor of Australian Ageing Agenda for the past four years during which time he led the launch of Community Care Review, the sister title focusing on community care sector, a redesign of AAA magazine and a series of successful conferences.

“After more than a decade reporting on the aged care sector it feels like the right time to take on a new challenge,” he said.

“Given Natasha’s track record as a journalist and editor, I have every confidence she will do an outstanding job and ensure AAA keeps going from strength to strength.”

Mr O’Keeffe said he was grateful to AAA’s readers and all the sector stakeholders who had generously given him their time, feedback and ideas over the past few years.

“I’ll miss AAA’s loyal audience who engage with us online and in person at events throughout the year, who give their time for interviews and background conversations, and who help us stay informed on issues that warrant scrutiny,” he said.

Ms Egan said she was very excited to be taking on the role at such a significant time of change in the sector.

“As we previously reported, it is going to be another big year for the sector and I look forward to bringing you the news you need to know in response to the many inquiries and reform initiatives underway,” she said.

“I’m also keen to continue and build on Darragh’s work and hope you continue to get in touch with your feedback and ideas to help us shape the publication you wish to read.”

A new journalist will soon be joining the team to work with Ms Egan on AAA.

Linda Belardi continues in her role as editor of Community Care Review.

The team also recently welcomed Carolyne Gowen, who has started as a sales executive working alongside Mark Ryu.
