Strong top end sales

Masonic Homes’ new Tiwi Gardens community is proving a hit in the NT.

Masonic Homes is reporting strong sales at its newly opened Tiwi Gardens Seniors Living Community in Darwin.

Twenty-six of 34 new villas at the upgraded site have been purchased since they were opened to the market in August.

The Tiwi Gardens development is the only privately owned and operated seniors living community in the Northern Territory.

“We believe this rapid take-up of…these retirement living options, confirms beyond any doubt the enormous demand that exists for options that enable Darwin’s seniors to remain in their own communities when they reach a certain age, without the worry of caring for their own properties,” said Masonic Homes’ new NT Regional Manager, Malcolm Johnstone.

The recent expansion program at Tiwi Gardens also saw the addition of 85 new residential care places, bringing Masonic Homes’ overall investment in the Top End to over $70 million.

Mr Johnstone said the new development was aimed at filling a much needed gap in the Northern Territory seniors market.

“Tiwi Gardens meets the evolving understanding that a “one size fits all” approach is not in tune with the changing needs of a maturing community,” he said.

“By offering these options, Masonic Homes recognises that senior Australians, like all sectors of society, have very different personal, physical and lifestyle needs.”
