Victorian aged care provider TLC Healthcare has broken ground on its newest development, an integrated care, health and wellbeing hub in Mordialloc, Melbourne.
The hub includes a 150-bed aged care home, 120-place childcare centre, community medical centre, commercial health club, swimming pool and café.
The development is part of TLC’s healthcare integration and aged care deinstitutionalisation strategy, which includes medical centres, gymnasiums and swimming pools combined with aged care homes across Melbourne and Geelong.
TLC Healthcare CEO Lou Pascuzzi said he was delighted to officially break ground on this exciting and innovative new development.
“At this location, TLC will be entering a new era of integrated health care with the opening of our first childcare centre.
“Given the synergies between aged care, primary care and childcare, it is a logical progression for our organisation to enter this field,” Mr Pascuzzi said.
“TLC Early Learning’s first childcare centre will be state-of-the-art and located alongside an aged care home, and community medical centre; giving peace of mind to our parents.
“Parents will also be able to join our on-site TLC Health Club, making it easier to fit in a workout or swim knowing their child is being well taken care of,” he said.
The Mordialloc development is expected to open in 2022.
TLC is planning a similar integrated site in Ivanhoe East in north-east Melbourne to open in 2023.
