Vermont Village reaches quarter century
ARC’s Vermont Village in Melbourne has celebrated its silver jubille.
More than 120 residents turned out to help Australian Retirement Community’s (ARC) Vermont Village celebrate its 25th Anniversary.
As part of the celebrations, four of village’s the original residents — Dorothy Staley (pictured left), Harry Wouters, Vera Kraehenbuehl (right) and Dick Hawksby – were presented with medallions.
Stockland Retirement Living’s Regional Manager for Victoria Andrew Philip said Vermont Village had always had a good philosophy behind it.
“The owners wanted a place they were proud to own and one their own parents would be happy living in, and this attitude has continued in the 25 years since,” he said.
Village activity groups all contributed donations towards the cost of the event to ensure the celebrations were free for all. Stockland also provided bone china mugs as mementos for all residents to remind them of the celebrations.
Vermont South Pharmacy and Boronia Heights Pharmacy also donated money for the event.
