VMCH adds another village to portfolio

VMCH continues to grow, announcing this week’s acquisition of Point Cook Village.

Victorian Catholic not-for-profit aged care provider VMCH has announced the acquisition of Point Cook Village in Melbourne’s Western Suburb of Wyndham.

The sale with RCA Villages was finalised on 5 February.

The village is made up of 257 independent living units and 24 apartments. It sits in Victoria’s fastest growing local government area.

The acquisition of Point Cook Village follows the 2023 merger with Corpus Christi Community Greenvale, and brings the for-purpose provider to a total of 868 retirement homes within 16 communities across Victoria.

VMCH chief executive officer Sonya Smart said the acquisition from RCA Villages meant much-needed housing options would remain for ageing Australians in the area.

“VMCH already has a significant retirement presence in Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs. This investment allows us to expand our reach into the west and offer residents other established local VMCH services including home care and residential aged care, should the need arise,” she said.

Ms Smart said VMCH would do its best to ensure there was as little disruption as possible for residents. The village’s existing management committee will continue to oversee the operations and key village staff will remain.
