The ABC reported that more than 300 Southern Cross Care (Tasmania) aged care workers have planned to take industrial action following a rejected enterprise bargaining offer.

According to the Health and Community Services Union, after months of negotiations Southern Cross has lifted its wage increase offer from 2.85 per cent to 3 per cent.

The union described the offer as an insult, saying it will organise a ballot among members to vote on industrial action.
