Warrigal celebrates 40 years

The not-for-profit provider held a special Annual General Meeting dinner to cap off a big growth year.

NSW provider Warrigal Care has celebrated 40 years of service with an Annual General Meeting dinner at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club.

The organisation was founded by a group of volunteers from the Shellharbour region in 1968 and now operates eight aged care facilities, seven independent living villages, two day respite services and three bundles of community aged care.

This year has been a big one for Warrigal, with the opening of two new facilities in Goulburn and Bundanoon, as well as the launch of the Illawarra region’s first extra services facility following a multi-million dollar upgrade and extension to the orgainsation’s Albion Park Rail home.

“It’s immensely satisfying to see Warrigal Care go through such a year of significant expansion after so many staff and volunteers have worked so hard for 40 years, ” said Warrigal Care’s CEO Mark Sewell.

“[The AGM dinner] night was the perfect end to a fantastic year for all of us.”
