Work underway on Warrigal upgrade

The NSW providers has turned the sod on the $4 million second stage of its main site upgrade.

Work is underway on a redevelopment of Warrigal Care’s headquarters in Albion Park Rail with the turning of the sod for the second stage of a major site upgrade.

The project will see the completion of eight new independent living units (ILUs), improvements to the onsite aged care facility and road and landscape upgrades.

The $4 million development project will include an extension to the organisation’s head office building, providing space for 16 new workers.

Warrigal Care’s executive manager of property and sustainability, Peter Hutchinson said the project will deliver a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and staff.

“We’ve been working very closely with our architects Hodges & Shorten, and builders Zadro, to physically achieve Warrigal Care’s vision of providing a range of excellent services to older people all from the one location, and we’re pleased that this latest work is underway,” he said.

The first stage of the upgrade was completed in 2008 and all up, over Warrigal Care has invested $12 million in site improvements.

“By providing a range of services in the Albion Park Rail area, we are confident that we can support people across several decades as they safely and comfortably transition through the various stages of ageing,” said the organisation’s CEO, Mark Sewell.
