A New South Wales-developed app has been launched to provide on-the-go first aid information and help in emergency situations.
The smart phone app, iFirstAid was developed by Central Coast-based family-run first aid solutions provider Survival Emergency Solutions, which has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
The app allows users to access first aid information with voice instructions and includes a cardiopulmonary resuscitation timer and step-by-step instructions on first aid procedures.
It includes a Find My Family feature, which allows family members and friends to easily track the location of a loved one.
It also enables users to keep track of their immunisation and vaccination records and receive travel information and emergency alerts for different countries. The app provides emergency contacts for over 200 countries and has the ability to send out GPS coordinates in the event of an emergency.
Survival Emergency Solutions co-founder Jerry Tyrell says his mission is to ensure that no one should ever feel powerless or helpless in an emergency situation.
“When you endure the loss of a friend or family member, there is always the question of ‘what could I have done to prevent this?’ And although some situations are unpreventable, there are many times when being prepared can save a life or provide the right help,” Mr Tyrell said.
