HIC 2013 awards
The Health Informatics Society of Australia announced the winners of this year’s awards at their Health Informatics Conference in Adelaide on Wednesday evening which included $8000 for the best app solution.

A medical student has won this year’s Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) App Challenge from among a field of 45 for his tablet-based app for junior medical officers, as announced at HISA’s annual Health Informatics Conference (HIC) in Adelaide this week.
Martin Seneviratne, who is also a successful app developer, picked up $8000 for his check-list style app, iResident, at the HIC 2013 Gala Awards Dinner on Wednesday evening.
The app would be most powerful if used across each member of the multi-disciplinary team comprising the junior medical officer, nurse, physiotherapist and the social worker, Mr Seneviratne’s said.
