Hills brings indoor positioning tech to Australia
Hills Health Solutions has partnered with Sonitor to deliver the latest in real-time location services (RTLS) solutions to the Australian health and aged care sectors.
Hills Health Solutions has partnered with Sonitor to deliver the latest in real-time location services (RTLS) solutions to the Australian health and aged care market.
Sonitor’s RTLS combines ultrasound, low frequency radio and Wi-Fi to provide asset management, patient flow, workflow, mobile duress calls, staff safety and infection control solutions.
The technology has the ability to operate for one to three years without needing charging and the ultrasonic location system provides location accuracy to within 30 centimetres and does not rely on Wi-Fi infrastructure for critical operation, according to Hills.
Hills Health Solutions national manager of products and technology Damien Cox said Hills was passionate about bringing the latest health technology innovations to the Australian market and this partnership provided that opportunity.
“Sonitor allows health care operators to gather data and use it to improve the healthcare workflows as well as manage patient and staff safety,” Mr Cox said.
Sonitor’s products combined with Hills Health’s integrated platform provided a significant range of options for locating and managing patients, staff and assets in facilities as a unified solution, he said.
“There is no doubt that Sonitor’s RTLS solution will change the face of healthcare provision in Australia and improve the health and safety of patients and staff,” Mr Cox said.
Sonitor senior vice president of global sales Arvid Gomez said Sonitor was “thrilled to partner with Hills to expand” its indoor positioning technology to the Australian market.
“Through this partnership, we offer healthcare facilities an effective way to manage assets and streamline processes that ultimately will improve health care delivery while having a positive impact on the bottom line,” Mr Gomez said.
