AUDIO: Several vendors launched new products at ITAC 2014 to assist aged care organisations provide services to older Australians. AAA speaks to a few CEOs to find out about their new socialisation, governance and nursing support tools.

AUDIO: Helping community care clients to socialise, management and safety compliance, and hands-free support for nurses, are among the focus of new products launched during ITAC 2014, which drew more than 50 organisations showcasing the latest and greatest aged care technology to assist with the provision of services.

AAA’s Natasha Egan caught up with a few CEOs to hear more about their new offerings.

inTouch living social technology

Online socialisation tool

InTouch Living announced and launched its new social care platform for community and residential aged care providers at ITAC.

The inTouch TV or tablet solution allows home care providers to open up a digital channel with their clients, who can use the device to socialise over the internet

Management and safety systems

Over champagne and canapés at a conference-eve special event, Leecare solutions launched a standalone version of its governance application P5 Exec.

The product addresses accreditation standards one and four, which look at management systems and ensuring a comfortable and risk-free living environment.

CEO Caroline Lee (pictured right) said the application was now available to all providers regardless of the clinical software they use:

 

eCase Hands-Free Image Health Metrics

Support via audio commands

Health Metrics demonstrated its new voice-activated, interactive care and communication tool for nurses and carers to ITAC delegates in the conference exhibition hall.

eCase Hands-Free allows the user to ask for and hear information, document and chart, and communicate with colleagues at the point of care using a headpiece, thereby leaving the carer with two free hands to carry out their duties.

CEO Steven Strange said the technology would revolutionise the provision of health and aged care services:
