Open data and connecting people to emerging smart technologies are being discussed in two webinars coming up this month.

Open data and connecting people to emerging smart technologies are being discussed in two webinars coming up this month from the Community Care Smart AT Collaborative.

In the first, participants will be introduced to open data and its potential application in community care by the Open Data Institute.

The presentation will cover:

  • what open data is
  • where to find it
  • examples relevant to community care providers
  • a demonstration of how open data can be used
  • training options available to build further knowledge of open data

The one-hour webinar, Open Data and Community Care, takes place on 23 May from 1.30 pm AEST. Register here.

The second presentation on 26 May shares knowledge and experience gained through the Independent Living Centre WA MyTech Project about the potential for smart assistive technology to maximise independence and social participation.

It includes case study examples of how current technology can be used to control the home environment.

The webinar highlights little known but well established smart AT and the need for education and advocacy surrounding assistive technology to ensure all those who can benefit, do.

The one-hour webinar, MyTech Project: Connecting People to Emerging Assistive Technology, takes place on 26 May from 9.30 pm AEST. Register here.
