Benetas CEO recognised for leadership

Sandra Hills has made the finals of a presitigious award for non-profit leaders.

The CEO of Benetas, Sandra Hills, reached the finals of the prestigious SACS Awards for Leadership.

Ms Hills was nominated for her work in the not-for-profit sector and her dedication to building a society where older people are respected and valued.

The group’s Deputy CEO, Sharon McGowan praised Ms Hills for her leadership at Benetas over the past 18 months.

“Sandra is the first to acknowledge others’ contribution and celebrate their success,” said Ms McGowan.

“She believes that we all have the capacity to make a positive difference in the lives of older people, providing we give our best.”

Ms Hills has experience in nursing, psychology, sociology and business management.

Before joining Benetas, she was the general manager for aged and community care at the Brotherhood of St Laurence.

Ms Hills is currently a director of Aged and Community Care Victoria (ACCV), a member of the Aged Care Consultative Committee for the Department of Health and Ageing and a director of Anglicare Australia.

“I am committed to working with older people who are disadvantaged and advocating on their behalf,” Ms Hills said.

“Recognition from SACS and my peers is confirmation that I am fulfilling my objectives and inspiring others to do the same. I’m really honoured to be recognised as a finalist.”
